This is a professional, direct service position providing team-based, holistic patient care. The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) is co-located on the clinical unit and collaborates as part of the health care team providing treatment to patients with behavioral health needs (mental health, substance use, behaviors impacting overall health and functioning) utilizing an integrated care model. Behavioral health services are provided to children, adolescents, and adult patients and their families. The Behavioral Health Consultant provides services including assessment, therapy brief or longer-term), and crisis intervention via warm hand-off while the patient is in-clinic and/or at scheduled visits with patients. This position provides direct coordination and collaboration with other behavioral health staff, the patients primary care provider, and other members of the patients care team. The Behavioral Health Consultant provides services under the supervision of the LCSW or LCPC. This position reports to the Chair of the Department of Behavioral Health.
